FYI: I am not going to talk about everything from the drama! I DON'T want to spoil it for people who have never seen it.

[I'll mostly talk about Aya... The drama shows the struggle her family has to go through too, but
I don't want to talk about all of it... WATCH it for yourself!]

I recommend this drama to everyone! It's  one of the best dramas and stories out there.
It is based off of a REAL story about a 15 yr old girl named Aya. She was diagnosed with an
incurable disease, Spinocerebellar Ataxia.
The disease makes the person unable to control their body movements. It goes from
having trouble w/ coordination to unable to walk, to unable to talk,  become bedridden, & then death.
The drama is based off the diary Aya had written from the time she was diagnosed
to her death when she was 25.

Aya is a normal middle school girl going into high school. She has two best friends that
have always been with her & a family that love & support her. One day she notices something wrong
with her body. She slowly starts to have trouble walking and her coordination becomes blurry.
He mother finds out the truth but decides to not tell her. Both her parents are in denial of the fact
that at such a young age she would have the disease, since it's rare.

After Aya finds out she has Spinocerebellar Ataxia, she goes in denial, but she still tries her
best to live her life to the fullest. She starts to write in her diary. From this point on, she writes about her struggle in life. She fell in love with a senpai who's in the male's basketball team. He
invites her to a matsuri, but on that night Aya has an accident. As she was walking, she fell face
down. After that incident everyone in her school finds out about her disease and the senpai starts
to avoid her. She then start to fall in love with Haruto. Although he is cold and quiet to the people
around him, he is nice to Aya.

Her high school life becomes a struggle from now on. Aya's disease worsens... She starts to have trouble walking. Her two best friends are always by her side, but parents and some students are
starting to complain to the school about how she holds her class back. One of her best friends
admitted to the fact that she's tired of taking "care" of Aya. As the class was having a conversation, Aya overhears all of it. From that she decides to go to a school for special needs people. Her
parents buy her a wheelchair so it'll be easier for her to get around.

One of the reasons she chose to go to the school for disabled people is
because she doesn't want to be a burden to her family and have to rely on others.
Her family comes to visit her and Haruto emails her (texts her) and calls her often.

After being at the new school for a while she learns to survive on her own as well as depend on those around her. Her roomate also has the same disease. She is unable to talk and uses an electric wheelchair to get around, but her roommate often goes to water the flowers and is often doing something. Aya starts to see that, she doesn't always have to depend on others and she also has freedom to do certain things. Aya's condition worsens and now she's having trouble talking.

As the story goes on, she still continues to write in her diary about her struggle and how she manages her daily life. Writing in her diary is the only sign that she is alive...

This drama had me crying!!! I never cry when it comes to movies or dramas, but this one
was really sad & touching. I really got into this drama and it had me crying almost every episode.
It made me appreciate my life even more and also more thankful for the life I am living.
GO WATCH IT!!!!! And if you've watched it, tell me what your thoughts are on it ^-^

Oh yeah... there's a special to this drama as well as a movie. The movie has different actors, but it's okay. I like the drama more!

Excerpt from the diary:

“If I were a flower, then now I would be a bud.

I shall treasure the beginning of my youth without any regrets.
This disease, why did it choose me?
Fate. It can't be put into words.
I want to make a time machine and go back in time.
If it wasn't for this disease,
not only I could enjoy falling in love but I also
wouldn’t have to rely on anyone and live by myself.
I really don't want to say things such as 'I want to go back to how things were before.'
I recognize how I am right now, and I will continue to live on.
Therefore I definitely won't run away.
That's what I’ll do. Definitely, always.
Even if it's like that, I still want to stay here.
because this is the place where I am.
If you look up at the sky after falling down the blue sky is also today
stretching limitlessly and smiles at me...I'm alive.
People shouldn’t dwell on the past. It's enough
to try your best in all that you're doing now.
Reality is too cruel, too brutal.
I don’t even have the right to dream.
As i think about the future, the tears will come out again."

“Mom, can I get married?”

Thanks 4 Reading! See ya next time! *:・゚✧
